AlliedCook Construction has been selected as Construction Manager for UNE’s new Patient Care Center.
Located on UNE’s Portland campus, the new state-of-the-art, 36,000-sf College of Dental Medicine and Inter-professional Clinic will be built in part, to serve those underserved areas of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. The only such school in northern New England, the dental school will address the shortage of dentists in rural Maine and will offer patients access to affordable dental care, while allowing students to gain clinical experience.
AlliedCook Construction has completed 17 projects for UNE over the past 35 years, including Sokokis Hall in 2010 and the College of Pharmacy in 2009. “As a Maine business focused on building long-term relationships, we are extremely excited to be able to continue our long-standing relationship with UNE,” said Dave Cook, President of AlliedCook.
Port City Architecture of Portland and Kahler Slater of Wisconsin are designing the new Patient Care Center.
Construction is expected to begin this summer so that dental classes can commence in the Fall of 2013.
