Construction Begins on Avita of Stroudwater, New Memory Care Center

AlliedCook Construction recently began construction on a new Memory Care Center – Avita of Stroudwater located in Westbrook. Scarborough-based Gawron Turgeon Architects designed the new state-of-the-art facility.

AlliedCook is serving as Construction Manager on this new memory care facility. The 45,000-SF facility will be fully dedicated for patients with Alzheimers and other forms of memory loss and will address a growing problem among the elderly, both in Maine and nationally. The one-story, wood-framed building will include 60 resident rooms, resident common areas including dining rooms, sun porches, activity rooms, and memory care gardens. The building will include public and administrative areas made up of a multipurpose room, parlor, café, private dining room, commercial kitchen, laundry facilities and administrative offices.
