Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New England Cancer Specialists’ New State-of-the-Art Facility

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 31, 2014 at 10:30 AM at 2 Independence Drive in Kennebunk, Maine for a new state-of-the-art medical facility for New England Cancer Specialists (NECS).

“New England Cancer Specialists, founded in 1978, is a recognized leader in the treatment of cancer and blood disorders. Physicians at New England Cancer Specialists collaborate with other top treatment and research facilities across the U.S., ensuring patients the most up-to-date treatments, access to clinical trials and the highest quality compassionate care. Nearly one-third of all Maine cancer patients are treated by New England Cancer Specialists.

Our new 15,000 square foot office in Kennebunk incorporates leading-edge technology and advanced architectural design to bring world-class cancer treatment to York County. Facility highpoints include:

  • Spacious and comfortable treatment room employing the latest technologies for administering chemotherapy;
  • State-of-the-art Pharmacy and dispensing program;
  • Advanced tele-conferencing and collaboration capabilities;
  • Broad spectrum of services including genetic counseling, research, and financial advocacy.

Whipple | Callender Architects designed the new facility and AlliedCook is serving as Construction Manager.
