Design-Build is the project delivery system in which the design and construction services are contracted by a single entity known as the Design-Builder or Design-Build Contractor. Project owners may choose a design-build project as it provides for the single point of responsibility and minimizes risk. A Design-Build project typically has a reduced delivery schedule due to the overlap of the design and construction phases of a project. Design-Build projects create an alliance between the architect and the contractor which fosters the collaboration and teamwork needed to bring the project to successful completion.
