AlliedCook Construction delivered fast-track concurrent renovations of two residence halls, Drummond Hall and Piper Hall, for Colby College in the summer of 2013.
The project consisted of renovations to the two, four-story, 32,000-SF residence halls and involved substantial interior demolition of existing non-load bearing construction and all building systems followed by construction of new walls, finishes and systems.
An addition housing an elevator and stair tower was also added to each building, as well as site utility upgrades.
AlliedCook worked closely with Colby’s Facilities Management and design team to install foundations for the additions and complete prep work during scheduled spring breaks before commencing full construction activities the day after graduation.
The project was completed in 74 days.
The residence halls are LEED Gold certified.
