Project Summary

This 22,500 SF addition to an office complex in Portland, Maine was completed in March 2008.  At that time, the addition was one of only two Class A office spaces in the area to be LEED Certified.  Site work included plantings and restoration within stream buffers, Low Impact Development (LID) techniques and subsurface stormwater management measures.

GREEN INITIATIVES

• Occupancy and daylight sensors on lighting fixtures
• Bright work environment reduces need for artificial lighting
• HVAC system consists of multiple variable air volume boxes and heating/cooking thermostats to maximize comfort
• Low-VOC paints were used
• Locally sourced furnishings with 100% recycled polyester fabrics were selected
