South Berwick Police Department Project Completed Ahead of Schedule
For the first time in thirty years, the South Berwick Police Department has a building of its own – and it’s a modern, state of the art building constructed by AlliedCook.
In July 2019, AlliedCook completed construction on the town’s new police department building, delivering the building one month ahead of schedule. Despite facing many challenges during the 10-month project, our team succeeded in finishing the project ahead of time and within budget.
Marc Gervais, a resident of South Berwick, served as Project Superintendent on the build. A member of the town’s fire department for nearly two decades, he brought a unique perspective into the needs of the project, as he knew firsthand just how exciting this new building is for the officers and staff, as well as for the entire community.
Throughout the entire process, Marc and the construction team worked with the Town Manager, Police Chief, and Lieutenant to ensure that the construction quality and building function exceeded expectations. They were involved in the decision-making, and the building reflects their input.
With a brick exterior, the police department’s new home is an attractive structure, but inside has all the functionality of a modern public safety building. The focal point is the booking area, which was designed to be a clean, safe and efficient space for officers to do their work. Nearby is the evidence processing area, a space constructed to house up-to-date equipment for safely handling evidence. Through a design effort led by Lassel Architects, the facility also meets the municipality’s goal of being an energy-conscious building.
We were glad to be able to construct a state of the art building for South Berwick’s first responders, and thank the citizens of South Berwick for putting their trust in us to undertake such an important project for their town.
