This new one-story 6,500-SF state-of-the-art facility will house necropsy, serology, microbiology, histology, and molecular diagnostics laboratories, as well as offices, waiting and reception areas, conference room, and other support areas.
The modern laboratory is an efficient, open-concept design that supports collaborative learning, cross training and resource sharing, ensuring UNH students gain hands-on experiential opportunities. The new facility will also offer improved climate control and ventilation along with additional safety and technology features in the lab spaces, which are designed to meet NIH and BSL2 standards.
Designed to fit with the rural character of the agricultural part of the UNH Durham campus, the building is located on the University of New Hampshire’s Durham location near the MacFarlane Greenhouses at Main Street and North Drive. The new facility will better enable the New Hampshire Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (NHVDL) to provide essential diagnostic services to the state’s agricultural, veterinary, wildlife and public health communities.
